Toward Enhancing Human Capital

Human capital is the most important factor in increasing corporate value as a medical device dealer. Our Group positions enhancing human capital as an important element of its management plan. We are considering measures to achieve this from a variety of angles, including developing sales and proposal capabilities through training and education, working to create more comfortable work environments, and improving employee engagement. We evaluate many ideas, from standardizing training intended to strengthen sales capabilities through to maximizing productivity by reorganizing our division of labor, in an effort to enhance human capital throughout the Group.

Developing the Capabilities of Our Employees

We endeavor to expand our training systems in order to foster the development of employees who can think and act for themselves and offer proposals for better products and business ideas tailored to customers. Each one of our operating companies promotes a range of initiatives such as executive candidate training and voluntary study sessions for employees. Going forward, we intend to expand the scope of these efforts and establish programs that will lead to the development of basic skills for even more employees. At the same time, we will also continue to evaluate activities to facilitate the sharing and exchange of information among employees with diverse know-how, and to provide a venue for exchange between the different companies in our Group.

Creating Corporate Environments That Allow People to Keep Working

There are a variety of definitions and indicators for being a company that provides job satisfaction, and these can be said to be constantly changing with the times.Constant verification and reform from a number of perspectives—including those of fair evaluation systems, development of human resource capabilities, appropriate welfare benefits, diversity and inclusion, improvements to labor safety and productivity, and the revitalization of organizational culture—will lead to greater satisfaction in individual employees as well as to improved employee engagement within the organization as a whole. Our Group comprises a collection of companies of various sizes in different areas. Through efforts at individual companies as well as Group-wide implementation of systems, we are striving to foster corporate environments in which people are both able to continue working and have the desire to do so.

A "Change & Innovation Project"
Intended to Reduce Overtime Work

Work-style reform has recently become an issue for society as a whole and is a major challenge for our Group, which must sometimes be able to respond to the needs of medical institutions on a 24-hour-a-day basis. As a corporation with over 2,000 employees, our social mission is to pursue happiness for our employees and their families.Accordingly, in 2013, we launched a Group-wide project entitled "Change & Innovation Project," which aimed to reduce overtime work—our biggest challenge—and to transform the mindset of our employees and improve operational efficiency. The aim of the project is not simply to pursue a numeric reduction, but to achieve "correct reduction."In order to improve efficiency, we are moving forward with concrete reforms to facilitate improved workplace behavior, such as developing an information infrastructure that allows employees to work from anywhere.
