MATERIALITY
The Sustainability Committee led the review process, and we identified materialities (key issues) following deliberation and approval by the Board of Directors. Going forward, we will advance our sustainability initiatives based on these key issues, taking a long-term perspective to promote sustainable management aimed at realizing a sustainable society and supporting the Group’s continued growth.
| Material Issues | Subtopics |
|---|---|
| Stable supplying reliable medical and nursing care equipment |
|
| Supporting medical and nursing care transform by using our imagination |
|
| Conserving environment |
|
| Promoting human resource development that leads to value creation |
|
| Balancing sustainable trust and growth |
|
We considered and identifiedmaterial issues through the following process.
We have comprehensively grasped social issues by referring to market changes (mega trends), international guidelines such as the GRI Standards, and evaluation items from ESG evaluation agencies. In order to identify issues for our Group in light of social issues, we conducted a value chain analysis, management/business analysis, mega trend analysis, and stakeholder analysis to identify issues.
We compared the issues extracted in each analysis in STEP 1 against our group's philosophy, policies, strategies, and society's expectations and demands for the group, and organized and consolidated the issues.
The issues organized and summarized in STEP 2 were evaluated along two axes: "the degree of impact the Group has on society and the environment" and "the degree of impact society and the environment have on the Group's management" Issues with a high degree of impact on each were positioned as material issue candidates.
After approval, we identified our materiality.
We have established a medium- to long-term vision and indicators for materiality. Going forward, we will incorporate materiality into our sustainability action plan and promote sustainability activities across the entire Group.
